We have an exciting opportunity for quality driven, professional and highly motivated individuals to support our Fundraising team with the delivery of local events. 

Our Volunteer Events Managers will plan and co-ordinate local, small-medium scale fundraising events with the aim of helping us to increase our presence in Richmond and raise vital funds for our nationwide employability service. The role can be flexible according to volunteers other commitments and we are happy to discuss short, medium and long term involvement.

Since 2010 The Poppy Factory employability service has facilitated over 950 job starts for Veterans (our clients) who experience some form of disability or health challenge in relation to work. Demand for our service has grown significantly; we are ambitious about supporting many more wounded; injured or sick veterans into meaningful and sustainable work and are now entering a further period of growth.

We are looking for volunteers to support us with upcoming events projects including:

Trumpeter’s House Open Garden, 2nd June 2018

Trumpeters’ House sits on the site of the old Richmond Palace, nestled between Richmond Green and the River Thames. Each year we invite visitors to learn more about our work and how they can support us whilst enjoying the tranquillity of the gardens with a cup of tea and a slice of cake! This popular community event involves the co-ordination of a team of Event day Volunteers

3x Major Donor Events: 1st June, 8th June (daytime) and 27th June (afternoon and evening)

This role will support the Senior Philanthropy Manager in planning and executing three exclusive Major Donor events. Two events are bespoke luncheons hosted at The Poppy Factory and the third event will be held at a boutique hotel in the heart of Richmond. These are new events so we are looking for someone who can bring new ideas and has a keen eye for detail to help ensure we create the right atmosphere for our HNW guests from invitation to event execution.


What is the time commitment?

  • We are looking for volunteers who are able to give their time flexibly (amounting to 2 days per week).
  • We can be flexible according to your other commitments and we are happy to discuss short, medium and long term involvement.
  • An initial meeting face to face to discuss your motivations, skills and experience will take place as part of the recruitment process on either the 4th, 9th or 10th of April.
